About me

Hi, I’m Julia Andohr, a strategy consultant with over a decade of experience in entrepreneurial ecosystems, strategy & innovation, and economic development. My passion is using strategy to help businesses and communities grow in a way that has a real, lasting impact.

I began my career in strategy consulting in the UK, working with brands like Shell, T-Mobile, and O2 Telefonica. At VCCP, I was part of the team that introduced human-centred design and customer experience design into brand strategies, including leading a project for O2 that resulted in a 39% increase in customer sign-ups. This work demonstrated my ability to craft and implement high-impact solutions that drive business growth.

Wanting to make a broader impact, I moved to Tanzania to follow my family roots. There, I worked with the World Food Programme’s first Local Innovation Hub, supporting early-stage startups with mentorship programs and developing tools to strengthen Tanzania’s innovation ecosystem. I also give back to the community by mentoring graduates, young professionals and young, aspiring entrepreneurs in Tanzania, helping them pro bono. This experience deepened my commitment to helping emerging markets build the right foundations for long-term growth.

I hold a Master’s in Emerging Economies and International Development from King’s College London, where I focused on how governments, businesses, and society can work together to drive innovation. My research on Tanzania’s innovation ecosystem shaped how I approach ecosystem development and policy by combining strategic thinking with actionable solutions.

Now, as a Research Fellow at Università di Milano-Bicocca, I continue to work with startups, businesses, and governments to help build and optimise entrepreneurial ecosystems that fuel innovation and sustainable growth.

Whether it’s strategy, policy recommendations, or helping businesses scale, I’m dedicated to using my experience to create real impact and lasting change.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors—cycling, hiking, or swimming. I’m also a big fan of padel and enjoy pottery when I need to unwind. I host a book club every few months and love cooking for friends—good food and conversation are always a win. I’m always looking for new places to explore, so travel is a big part of my life. I love immersing myself in and discovering new cultures, foods, and experiences.
